| Disappearing Act |
| 11.23.04 (2:51 pm) [edit] |
|
I disappeared for such a long time. I got really depressed and got all screwed up from the pills the doctor put me on and then my other pills stopped working. So I had to take more pills. I wish I had stock in the pharmecuetical industry, I'd be rich and not just lost.
Anyway, here I am. Did anyone miss me? Why would you? I don't pay your bills nor cook your dinner and clean for you. I only blather on about trivial, boring (in a Ben Stein voice) information that you couldn't care less about. Blah, blah, blah.

| Aagh..a meteor! |
| 08.11.04 (2:07 pm) [edit] |
I was hoping to see the meteor showers tonight but it has been so gross and hazy out that I don't think it is possible. And we are expecting rain tomorrow and further along the week there will be tropical storms.. so I guess I am out of luck for this year. Oh well. I guess I will just spend the evening checking the kids school work and preparing for tomorrow's work too. Later I'll watch the Amish show.

| tests |
| 08.06.04 (3:15 pm) [edit] |
The kids did really well on their tests today. Theresa got 100% in Latin, 100% in Science and 85% in Spelling and Gina got 100% in Vocabulary, 80% in World Literature and 84% in Science. She couldn't take her Math test because I forgot :x to buy the test book when I bought all of the other materials. She was very happy, to say the least because Math is not her favorite subject. Other than that, today is my 16th wedding anniversary.

Aahhhh.....beautiful cool weather today. So relaxing and comfortable compared to the past week and the hot, humid and disgusting weather. I can't imagine living in a country like Indonesia for example that has humid weather alot. I get headaches just thinking about it. Anyway, I will go out and cut the grass in a bit after helping Theresa study for a science quiz for tomorrow.

| 1 Million Homeschoolers |
| 08.04.04 (1:34 pm) [edit] |
|
I love the news! 1.1 million homeschoolers....a 29% increase since 1999. Of course those figures are understated because so many of us aren't counted. It feels good to be part of a growing minority but that's not the reason I homeschool. I was tired of my daughter crying every afternoon, and the failed attempts at meeting with educators who were over worked and who's classrooms were run by their students rather than them. I am starting my third year of homeschooling and teach 6th and 10th grade.

| Bye Money.... |
| 08.04.04 (1:12 pm) [edit] |
|
Today the plumber came to my house and did a bunch of work there. We had him replace the garbage disposal, the kitchen and bathroom sink faucets and the kitchen and bathroom drains. We also had him clean out the bathroom drain cause it gets all hairy from the girls and their long hair. I keep telling them not to stand over the drain because it is such a nuisance to keep clean. But, who listens to their mother?
School continues but we didn't have too many problems today. I think as each day passes it will get better. Theresa's work was completed late in the day because of the plumber and the noise he was making so I cut her Latin assignment short. Gina continues to do okay.

| Homeschool |
| 08.02.04 (2:28 pm) [edit] |

Our home school started again today. We always start early so we can end early. Things went okay but my youngest freaked out over nothing as usual. Now she is dancing around like she's eaten a pound of sugar.

| Elevated Terror Alert |
| 08.01.04 (2:46 pm) [edit] |
|
So, we are once again in the midst of an elevated terror alert for NYC, Newark, NJ and Washington D.C. Supposedly they will try to hit the NYSE and the Federal Reserve Bank and other major financial sights. I am in Boston, close enough but I won't lose sleep over it. Besides my worrying won't change a thing about the world. I have my beliefs and ethics and I feel that the 'civilization' isn't very civil. I am becoming more and more liberal as I get older and am exposed to more injustices in the world. Don't know how many people in the world share my feelings about the war in Iraq or the problems in Rwanda and a number of other countries. But I am simply a vote which I will cast in November. 'Nough said.

Take the quiz: "What Kind of Soul Do You Retain?"
Loving You have a very warm and loving aura about your soul and believe in the virtues of Love. To you, there is a bright side to everything! You are the polar opposite of the Dark soul.

Yeah....The DNC is over and all of the politicians have left town! But, since the Zoloft is making me feel happier, I don't care anyways. Home school starts on Monday. I know, I am a masochist. I actually enjoy teaching my kids and look forward to school starting even though I am with them all year long and they never leave. Other mothers think I am crazy but it really is fun. This year we are planning more trips and trying to drag my father along with us.
WWE wrestling was great last night. Eddie Guerrero blasted Kurt Angle in the face with some powder when Kurt tried to steal his lowrider. Ha ha ha....   Summer Slam should be good.
Maybe I'll go see the Metallica movie this weekend. :!:

| the DNC |
| 07.23.04 (3:15 pm) [edit] |
|
Oh God, the DNC is starting in Boston. Supposedly everything is going to be all screwed up. I'm lucky in that I don't live near the Fleet Center nor work near there (I don't work at all!) But there will be a delegate party up on Millenium Park whick stinks because I like going there. Oh well, it's for a week or whatever.

| 07.23.04 (3:07 pm) [edit] |
|
My doctor put me on Zoloft at the start of the week. I have been depressed because my mother died on May 26 and no matter what anyone says, it affects you. Whether you are 6 or 60, there is a huge void. So, I am trying this medication and it makes me feel sleepy about 4 hours after taking it but I am waiting to see if I get used to that.

| Demonic daughter |
| 07.18.04 (5:05 am) [edit] |
Does anyone know of a good spell I can put on my daughter to keep her from acting so freakin' demonic? I don't get this...when I was ten I didn't freak out over every crazy little thing from the moment I opened my eyes in the morning. She can't wear her capris, she has to wear her new skirt. Excuse me, your skirt is in the hamper and unless you want to learn how to do laundry then stop your bitchin'. I don't wash clothes every day to appease the clothes goddess. Isn't there some movie coming out called 'Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen'. My God that's my kid! Do I get any of the royalties? It's like yesterday, there was a Mad TV episode with Stuart in it. He runs away and is taken in by some woman who wants to 'adopt' him. All it kept reminding me of was my daughter. Maybe I should try harder at getting her a therapist. Any young girls want to comment on this? I would love to hear some advice because I know times have changed and when I was a kid is not now. :?: :?:

I added some new links to my old music sites. These are bands that I played in. I wrote the songs/lyrics about 5 years ago. I hope to someday write some more and record again because we had a lot of fun.

| The Horror..... |
| 07.17.04 (11:55 am) [edit] |
|
My Japanese penpal almost got run over by a train yesterday. She is pregnant and her blood pressure is too low and she fainted almost onto the train tracks as the train was approaching the station  It would really, really suck if she had gotten hurt. I wish I lived closer so I could help her out. It's hard enough having to deal with pregnancy without fainting all of the time.

| Plastic window. |
| 07.16.04 (3:58 pm) [edit] |
|
Today I found some flexible clear plastic that was very strong, like a fabric almost. I cut it out for the car window since it won't close. We are having trouble finding the window regulator to fix the problem. But now I can see through it and just have to open the other window if I don't want to suffocate. We were going to go and eat at Applebee's tonight but they are closed for some private party. Who ever heard of a whole restaraunt closing for a private party? Hope it wasn't for health code violations instead. :? :?

| I Hate This |
| 07.15.04 (3:03 pm) [edit] |
|
I am so sick of this! Every time I get some spare cash something else breaks. I have just fixed the dryer, got hubby's car fixed and now his stupid window crank broke. He stripped it because it was jammed. Now I have to shell out more money to have it fixed cause he doesn't have it. When is it going to end?

| My Legs are Burning! |
| 07.14.04 (3:13 pm) [edit] |
God this laptop gets so hot! :x This is so boring. I have to watch 'Bend it Like Beckham' with my daughter. I know I don't have to watch it but I'm using my computer and it's easier to just sit here than move. [i]"The fattening of America."[/i] I'll be heading back to my father's house on Sunday to take care of him. I've had a week away since having an argument with my brother. We spoke though and patched things up. After all we had been through with my mother and her passing away it seemed really stupid to hold a grudge. But it has been fun to be at my own house for a week. Here I can act like a total lunatic. My kids feel the same. It is so freeing not to feel like you have to act like someone else. But my Dad needs me now and he is more important to me than my own freedom.

| American Eskimo Dog |
| 07.14.04 (2:47 pm) [edit] |
|
An appeal to all owners of American Eskimos or those knowledgable of their health. First off, I have had my dog to the vet and he performed the senior blood tests on Fox, they came back okay. My problem is: my dog's tail and haunches are almost bald. His skin feels rough and dry too. The vet said it could be stress because I had to relocate to take care of my mother. Has anyone else seen this problem. BTW Fox is 8 but has had this for about a year. Thanks.

| Queer Eye UK version |
| 07.14.04 (11:11 am) [edit] |
|
Did anyone else notice how you can't tell who is the straight guy on the UK version of Queer Eye? I thought Fab 5 were supposed to be outrageously gay but these guys just seemed really funny. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that I wasn't paying alot of attention to the show. I am busy instead scanning my computer for unwanted adware that always seems to follow us everywhere. I'd much rather have been bothered by the old pop-ups that would appear on the screen at least they didn't download themselves onto my computer. [b]George Orwell here we come[/b]. 8)
